The Mediterranean Chapter: EmailBoutique Goes Remote

Remote

There’s a moment when you arrive in a new place and realize—this was always part of your story. You just hadn’t written the chapter yet. That’s exactly how it felt landing in Xàbia, a small town on Spain’s Costa Blanca, where mountains meet the sea and time slows to a deeply human rhythm.

As of this spring, EmailBoutique has officially transitioned into a fully remote company. While we’ve always embraced flexibility, this move marks a bold and intentional shift—not just in geography, but in mindset, workflow, and lifestyle.

Co-Living, Co-Working, and Real Connection

I chose to start this chapter at a co-living space in the heart of Xàbia’s old town. It’s a warm, creative environment where independent professionals live and work under the same roof—or just around the corner. Some come for a few weeks, others stay longer. The atmosphere? A blend of autonomy and camaraderie, with just enough serendipity to spark new ideas and conversations.

The space itself flexes with the seasons: a hostel during high summer, a hub for digital nomads during quieter months. My days flow between focus sessions at the local co-working office, deep chats over community dinners, and impromptu collaborations on balconies or beach walks.

This kind of setup offers something more than convenience—it offers belonging. And for a solo founder, that matters.

“I call it a parallel life,” I told a friend recently. “One where work is still serious—but joy, presence, and connection take the lead.”

Finding My Rhythm

Settling into a new place takes time—especially when the siesta breaks up your grocery schedule and dinners start at 9:30 PM. But once I found my footing, everything clicked into a new kind of rhythm.

Week two began with rooftop yoga overlooking the Mediterranean, a moment of stillness that set the tone for how I now approach life and business.

“From figuring out where to buy groceries 🛒 to discovering the best cafés to work from ☕—I finally feel like I’ve arrived.”

It’s a softer structure than I was used to, but far more sustainable. I plan meetings around meaningful work blocks, not just calendar slots. I prioritize movement, reflection, and connection over to-do list exhaustion.

And most importantly—I let the view inspire the pace.

The Work Still Matters (and So Does the Way We Do It)

Behind the scenes, the work continues. Email design systems. Custom-coded templates. ESP migrations. Strategy sessions. If anything, the distance and change of scenery sharpen my focus.

Even better, I’ve been refining my internal processes with new workflows and tools. From visualizing proposals in flowcharts to building repeatable email modules in multiple ESPs, I’m now more efficient—and more energized—than ever.

I even held an impromptu SkillShare session at the co-living space, walking fellow nomads through how I streamline creative workflows. No slides. Just a flowchart, some real talk, and the kind of insight you can only gain by building something from the ground up.

Coastal Trails & Clarity

One of the most powerful moments since arriving in Spain? A coastal hike to Cap Prim, where cliffs tower above a turquoise sea and wildflowers bloom along the path. It was beauty in its purest form—and a reminder of why I chose this path in the first place.

“Each step along the trail felt like a little reclaiming of freedom, joy, and strength. The view from the top left me speechless—with the Mediterranean stretching endlessly in every direction.”

I’ve come to realize that a business doesn’t have to be tied to one location to be meaningful. It just has to be rooted in purpose, connection, and the courage to evolve.

What’s Next for EmailBoutique

EmailBoutique will continue to deliver exceptional, tailored email design and development for teams across the globe—from wherever inspiration strikes. That means:

  • A new wave of modular, efficient template systems ready to plug into any ESP.
  • More international collaborations and partnerships.
  • A deeper investment in sustainable creativity—and a lifestyle that nurtures it.

I’ll be spending more time across Europe this year, continuing this semi-nomadic journey while staying deeply connected to my clients and community.

Whether you're in Vancouver, Valencia, or Berlin—I'm just a Zoom away.

If you’ve ever thought about restructuring your business or lifestyle to reflect who you truly are, I can only say this: Go for it. There’s no perfect time. Just the perfect moment to begin.

And if you’re curious about co-living, remote work setups, or want to chat all things email—reach out. I'd love to hear your story too.
